Eddy makes it easy to store and organize all your company's HR documents. Employees and new hires can electronically sign any document you add, and a copy of each signed document is added to their employee profile in Eddy.
Intro to documents
You can upload and store company documents in Eddy. These documents are usually those that you would like to share with employees on your Eddy home page, as well as other documents that require a signature (for example and employee handbook or a background check). Company documents can be shared with employees (for download), or can be sent to an employee as part of a signature request.
Above: Eddy's global navigation includes a "Documents" tab.
Upload a document
To upload a file to Eddy, go to the "Documents" tab and click the "Upload document" button. Keep in mind that you must be signed in as a user with "HR Admin" permissions to see the "Documents" tab. Eddy supports the following types of files:
A file must be smaller than 25 MB in order to upload.
View an uploaded file
Click on an uploaded file to view more details about the file.
Files are sorted in what's called "reverse-chronological" order—a fancy way to say that the most recently uploaded files show up at the top of the list. 🎓
When you view a file, you see a preview of that file—but only if the file can be previewed by a modern browser. So PDFs, JPGs, PNGs all can be previewed. However DOC and DOCX can't be previewed. If you need to see a preview of these you'll need to download the file.
Archive & Delete an uploaded file
- You can archive
- you can delete an archived file
- You can unarchive an archived file (No—we didn't invent that word. Apparently it's a real word 😆.)
- Archived files can't be sent out for new signature requests
- Any pending signature requests will still work.

Share to Home page
An HR admin can share any uploaded document for all employees to view and download. This is done from the home page.
Eddy Forms: W4, I9, and more
In addition to the files you upload, Eddy includes a handful of files that are common to almost all companies—for example W4, I9, and Direct Deposit Authorization forms. These Eddy forms can be sent to new hires and employees and require a signature. They include fielded data that will be pulled (if available) from the employee's information in Eddy. So the fields for name, address, social security number, etc. will be auto-filled within these forms when the signed-in user is asked to sign them.
Above: Eddy includes pre-defined forms that can be signed online.
View an Eddy Form
Similar to an uploaded document, you can click an Eddy form to see a preview of the form. Eddy forms look very much like a regular file you've uploaded. A few differences are:
- When an employee signs an Eddy form, they sign a specific field inside the form (rather than a page added to the end of the document)
- Any employee information that has been added to Eddy will automatically appear in the form.
- Eddy forms can't be deleted or archived.
For each document or form, Eddy shows a summary of how many people have signed the document, and how many have been requested to sign the document.
